Procuros Raises €20M to Make B2B Supply Chains Ready for Autonomous AI

Hamburg-based Procuros has raised €20 million in a Series A round led by XAnge, giving the company fresh capital to expand its AI-native infrastructure for business-to-business trade. Existing investors Point Nine, Creandum, b2venture and SquareOne also participated, alongside several angel investors. The company plans to use the funding to accelerate international expansion and broaden the range of supply-chain operations that can be handled automatically.
Founded in 2021 by Patrick Thelen and Benjamin Bradford, Procuros emerged from a problem that remains common across global commerce: companies still exchange critical transaction information through a patchwork of EDI systems, spreadsheets, PDFs, portals and other disconnected channels. Procuros is building a connectivity layer intended to remove much of that complexity.
Instead of creating a separate integration whenever a new supplier or customer joins a network, businesses can connect to Procuros once and communicate with multiple trading partners through the platform. It accepts formats ranging from EDI and XML to CSV, Excel, JSON, PDFs and APIs, then translates and validates the information before sending it into a company's ERP system.
The platform goes beyond simply extracting information from documents. Procuros checks transaction details against master data, contracts and previous orders, validating product numbers, quantities, prices, delivery information, tax details and other fields. It can also correct inconsistencies and add missing information before transactions reach internal systems.
That structured data layer is becoming particularly important as companies introduce AI agents into their operations. Procuros is developing its infrastructure so these agents can understand the context behind transactions and eventually execute supply-chain tasks rather than simply process individual documents. Current applications include order entry, order responses, shipping notices, invoices and supplier master data, with developers also able to build their own workflows through the platform's API and MCP capabilities.
The company says more than 300 businesses are already using its platform, with customers including Breuninger, Chefs Culinar, KoRo, flaconi, The Quality Group and Hitschler. More than €3 billion in annualised order volume is reportedly flowing through the network.
Procuros will now focus on growing its network beyond the DACH region, strengthening its go-to-market operation and adding more AI-driven automation. Its longer-term ambition is to provide the underlying connectivity and trusted transaction data that allow retailers, suppliers and AI agents to conduct B2B trade with far less manual intervention.
