Paris-Based Rayon Raises €10 Million to Build the Drawing Layer for Interior Design’s AI Era - Prime World Media Funding News

Paris-based Rayon has raised €10 million in Series A funding to expand its browser-based design software for interior designers and bring AI and 3D capabilities deeper into the design workflow. The round was led by Partech, with participation from existing investors Northzone, Foundamental and Seedcamp, taking Rayon’s total funding to nearly €16 million.

Founded in October 2021 by Bastien Dolla and Stanislas Chaillou, Rayon brings plans, styling, specifications and schedules into one collaborative browser environment. Users can import PDFs, images and DWG files, create their own block libraries and work on projects from early feasibility through execution. Because the drawing and its associated data live in the same environment, specifications can automatically update when designs change.

Rayon is designed to make professional-grade CAD more accessible to interior designers and architecture teams. The platform supports real-time collaboration, allowing multiple users to work together and share projects through a link rather than relying on exported files. It currently provides more than 4,000 library items and over 100 templates for projects spanning housing, retail, offices and other spaces.

The company has attracted customers ranging from large property and hospitality operators to independent design studios. Virgin Atlantic uses Rayon for airport lounge design, while CityHub has reported saving around €10,000 per month on in-house feasibility studies. Coloc Housing says it saves approximately €11,000 monthly by testing layouts before bringing in architects, while design studio Nolt Mathis replaced a 15-year legacy CAD subscription with Rayon.

Rayon has also been adding AI capabilities directly into its design environment. Its existing tools include a floor-plan vectoriser that converts scanned or photographed plans into editable drawings and a feature that can generate blocks from photographs. The company plans to introduce a broader AI suite alongside 3D capabilities in its upcoming version 4, keeping these features within the same design environment rather than treating AI as a separate tool.

The new funding will be used to launch 3D, expand AI-powered design capabilities and strengthen Rayon’s go-to-market efforts. Alongside the financing, the company has released a mobile-first app, a presentation mode for working with clients in real time and an expanded template library. Rayon is targeting a large interior design market that it estimates at nearly €50 billion.
