Amsterdam-based Huppa has raised €1 million in pre-seed funding to help independent gyms and fitness studios run their businesses through a single connected platform. The round includes backing from NL SportTech Ventures and a group of experienced entrepreneurs behind Dutch technology companies such as Sentia, Keylane, TicketSwap, Moneybird and Revue. <Cite refs={["turn710056search0","turn710056search1"]}/>
Founded in 2024 by Sharief Mohamed and Gino Arendsz, Huppa grew out of the founders' own frustrations with the software used to manage their kickboxing gym and CrossFit box. Their experience highlighted how outdated systems can leave fitness operators juggling bookings, memberships, payments and customer information across disconnected tools. <Cite refs={["turn710056search0","turn710056search13"]}/>
Huppa's platform brings these core activities together, giving operators one place to oversee members, organise classes, process payments and monitor financial performance. It supports a range of group-based fitness businesses, including CrossFit facilities, martial arts schools, yoga and Pilates studios, and conventional class-led gyms.
Beyond routine administration, the software provides scheduling tools for businesses operating across multiple locations and dashboards covering revenue, VAT and membership performance. Role-based permissions allow owners to give coaches, managers and administrative staff access to the information relevant to their responsibilities. Its pricing is tied to the number of active customers, rather than charging separately for individual software modules. <Cite refs={["turn710056search0","turn710056search1"]}/>
The platform also connects with services used throughout the fitness industry, including payments provider Mollie and booking aggregators Urban Sports Club and ClassPass. These integrations help studios coordinate customer activity across different channels without having to manage each relationship independently. Members can also handle tasks such as booking sessions, managing subscriptions and purchasing credits themselves, reducing the workload on front-desk teams. <Cite refs={["turn710056search0","turn710056search1"]}/>
Huppa's next step is to turn the operational data collected by its software into more useful business guidance. The company plans to develop AI-powered insights and automation that could help owners identify their strongest membership offers, understand which classes generate the most revenue and spot opportunities to improve business performance. Its longer-term ambition is to act as a digital partner that helps operators make decisions, not simply record transactions.
The new investment will finance further product development and team growth as Huppa builds its presence in the Benelux region. The company has set a target of serving at least 150 fitness businesses across the Netherlands and Belgium by the end of 2027, before pursuing wider European expansion. <Cite refs={["turn710056search1","turn710056search13"]}/>
For fitness entrepreneurs working to build strong communities while managing increasingly complex operations, Huppa is betting that better-connected software can reduce administrative pressure and give owners more time to focus on members, coaching and sustainable growth.
