Helsingborg-Based Klang Raises €1.32 Million to Advance Conversation AI and Swedish Speech Technology - Prime World Media Funding News

Helsingborg-based Klang has raised €1.32 million (SEK 15 million) in fresh funding at a valuation of €13.2 million (SEK 150 million). The round was backed by existing shareholders and led by entrepreneur and tech investor Johan Lenander, together with Emil Sjödin, founder of Refined, and Daniel Gadd, co-founder of Position Green.

Founded in 2023, Klang develops AI technology that transcribes, summarises and analyses interviews, meetings and other conversations. The company was founded by Niklas Silfverström, Viktor Silfverström, Andreas Argelius, Mattias Fält and Jacob Andersson. Silfverström serves as CEO, Argelius as CTO, Fält as Head of AI, and Viktor Silfverström as CPO.

The company is building its own speech and language models designed for real-time conversation processing. Its long-term vision is to create a searchable memory for companies and organisations, allowing AI to understand not only what was said but also context, nuance, dialects and connections between different conversations. Klang develops and operates its technology in Sweden, with its models designed around European data protection requirements.

Alongside the funding announcement, Klang has released Pianissimo, its first open speech-to-text model specifically designed for Swedish and Swedish dialects. The model is based on NVIDIA's Parakeet and has been optimised for Swedish speech. Klang says its testing showed accuracy comparable to the National Library of Sweden's KB-Whisper Large while being around 60 times faster. The model can run locally on standard consumer hardware and is available as open source for developers and organisations to use and build upon.

Klang is also expanding internationally. The company launched in Japan on August 12, 2026, with a localised web platform and mobile applications that allow users to record, transcribe and summarise conversations in Japanese. Its next expansion focus includes the Nordics, Benelux, DACH region and Japan.

The new capital will support continued research and AI development, product development and international distribution. Klang also plans to hire around 10 people across research, development and marketing as it works to expand its conversation intelligence platform and bring its Swedish speech technology to more markets.
