EstateMin Raises €1 Million to Expand Its AI-Powered LegalTech Platform in the US - Prime World Media Funding News

EstateMin, an Irish-founded legal technology startup, has raised €1 million in pre-seed funding to accelerate its expansion across the US and help law firms modernise trust, estate planning and probate administration. The round includes backing from NDRC, First Port Syndicate and angel investors Mike Hanrahan, Moira McKenna and Conor Stanley, alongside support from Enterprise Ireland through its High Potential Start-Up programme.

Now headquartered in New York, EstateMin is developing AI-powered software specifically for law firms handling trusts and estates. Its platform aims to reduce the administrative workload involved in managing estate cases, from collecting client information and organising documents to reviewing records and preparing legal forms.

Bringing AI to estate administration

Estate planning and probate often involve substantial paperwork, multiple stakeholders and detailed financial records. Legal teams must gather information about assets, debts and beneficiaries, maintain accurate case files and ensure documents are complete before filings. Many firms still rely on manual data entry, spreadsheets and disconnected systems, making the process time-consuming and prone to errors.

EstateMin addresses these challenges through a centralised platform that digitises client intake, extracts relevant information from documents and organises estate records in one place. Its AI-powered review tools help identify missing details and inconsistencies before information reaches clients or courts.

The platform also provides a secure client portal and integrates with existing legal practice management software, including Clio. This allows law firms to introduce automation without replacing their established systems.

According to the company, its tools can save approximately five to seven hours per estate planning matter and five to ten hours per estate administration case. By reducing repetitive tasks, EstateMin aims to give legal professionals more time to focus on legal advice and client relationships.

From personal experience to legal innovation

EstateMin was founded by Isabella Hughes, a former legal executive, alongside co-founder Oisín Dolphin and their team. The idea emerged after Dolphin experienced the complexities of probate following his father's death. The process highlighted how much administrative work families and legal professionals face when settling an estate.

Hughes recognised the same inefficiencies through her professional experience and helped turn the problem into a technology business. The company initially developed its offering in Ireland before shifting its focus towards the much larger US market, where trust and estate law firms need specialised tools to manage increasingly complex workflows.

EstateMin reports that its software is being adopted by law firms across multiple US states, with growing demand for more efficient estate administration.

Funding to accelerate US growth

The €1 million investment will support EstateMin's expansion in the American market, product development and efforts to serve more legal practices. The company plans to build beyond its current workflow automation capabilities towards a more comprehensive platform covering the estate lifecycle.

As legal technology adoption accelerates, EstateMin is positioning itself in a specialised segment where generic case management systems often lack the features required for trust, estate and probate work. Its next challenge will be to scale customer adoption while demonstrating that AI can make sensitive legal processes more efficient without compromising accuracy or oversight.
