Emerald Raises €1.66 Million to Expand AI-Powered Preventive Healthcare Across the UK - Prime World Media Funding News

London-based Emerald, a preventive healthcare startup, has secured an additional €1.66 million (£1.4 million) to accelerate its commercial growth and strengthen its technology for proactive health management. The funding brings the company’s total funding to approximately €3.44 million (£2.9 million).

The latest financing combines an €832,200 grant from Innovate UK with a further €832,200 in venture capital investment. Existing investors participated alongside new backers, including Sequel and Highgoal, as the company reported an increase in its valuation compared with its previous round.

Founded in 2024, Emerald is building a healthcare platform designed to help people understand potential health risks before symptoms emerge. Rather than treating routine health checks as isolated snapshots, the company brings together laboratory results, wearable-device data, lifestyle information and medical history to identify patterns and track changes over time.

Its service starts with in-clinic blood testing that measures more than 115 biomarkers across over 50 locations in the UK. Results are presented through a digital platform, where members can monitor their health trends and receive personalised guidance. Each member is also connected with a general practitioner who can provide clinical advice, diagnose conditions, prescribe medication and make referrals to private or NHS services when appropriate.

Emerald operates as a clinician-founded, Care Quality Commission-registered healthcare provider. Its platform is also authorised as a UKCA Class I medical device, supporting its focus on combining digital health technology with regulated clinical care.

The company reports significant growth since the beginning of 2026, with its membership base increasing tenfold and more than 100,000 laboratory tests processed. Based on repeat-screening data shared by the startup, two-thirds of users recorded improvements in cholesterol levels, while blood sugar levels fell by around one-third and inflammation declined by nearly half among members.

Emerald has also broadened its distribution through partnerships with organisations including Pluxee, Epassi and Yonder, spanning employee benefits, financial technology and fitness. These collaborations could help employers make preventive health services available through existing workplace benefits programmes.

The new capital will support commercial expansion, further product development and improvements to Emerald’s clinical services. The Innovate UK grant is specifically intended to advance the company’s AI applications and underlying technology, with the goal of helping clinicians deliver more personalised and proactive care.

Led by co-founder and CEO Alexander Badalyan, Emerald aims to reach one million members over the next three years. Its broader ambition is to make ongoing health monitoring and early intervention more accessible, shifting healthcare towards identifying risks and acting earlier rather than waiting for problems to become more serious.
