Cori Clinical Secures €3.56M to Bring AI Into the Front End of Clinical Trials

London-based Cori Clinical has raised €3.56 million in a Seed round as it looks to make the early stages of clinical development faster, more connected and less dependent on fragmented documentation. The investment was led by Breega, with Enzo, Heartfelt, Together Ventures and Bynd also participating.
Founded in 2025 by Jorn Jansen Schoonhoven and Patricio Fernandez Weisson, Cori is developing an AI workspace for clinical trial teams. Schoonhoven serves as CEO, while Fernandez Weisson is CTO.
The startup is focused on a problem that often emerges before a trial even reaches patients. Clinical teams typically manage protocols, budgets, consent materials, regulatory documents and operational plans across separate systems. When a study changes, those updates can have to be manually reflected across multiple documents, creating opportunities for inconsistencies and costly delays.
Cori approaches this differently by creating a structured, continuously updated blueprint of a clinical study. The platform combines an organisation's previous trial knowledge with external information, including clinical-trial data and guidance from regulators such as the FDA, EMA and MHRA. Teams can then use the same underlying information to develop protocols, submission materials, operational plans and subsequent amendments.
The company positions the technology as an assistant rather than a replacement for clinical expertise. Cori can draft and identify potential issues, while clinical and regulatory professionals retain responsibility for reviewing and approving the resulting work. Its platform is designed to keep connected trial documents aligned when decisions change.
Cori says its approach could lower average trial setup costs by at least 33%, based on internal modelling that considers setup expenses, historical amendment rates and the time required to reach the first participant. The company is already working with two of the world's five largest enterprise CROs and has supported trials at organisations including Erasmus MC in Rotterdam.
The fresh capital will help Cori increase its delivery capacity, expand the team and strengthen the clinical and regulatory intelligence built into its platform. The company has also appointed Dr. Emma Ogburn as Chief Clinical Officer. She previously worked at Lindus Health and brings more than two decades of clinical-trial experience across biotech, pharma, CROs and academia.
With its new funding, Cori is aiming to reduce the administrative friction between designing a study and getting the first participant enrolled, giving clinical teams more time to focus on the science and the treatments they are developing.
