Copenhagen-based Pandektes has raised €13.5 million in a Series A round led by Alstin Capital, with participation from PROfounders, Scale Capital and existing investors. The funding will support the company’s expansion across Europe and North America while helping it develop legal data infrastructure that can also be accessed by external developers through an API.
Founded in 2022 by Casper Laursen and Søren Brokær, Pandektes is building an AI-powered platform for legal research. Laursen serves as CEO, while Brokær is CTO and CPO. The company aims to make legal information easier to search, verify and use by bringing legislation, case law and other legal sources into a continuously updated database.
The platform addresses a longstanding challenge in legal research. Laws, court decisions and administrative rulings are spread across thousands of sources, often organised differently from one jurisdiction to another. Pandektes collects, structures and connects these sources, allowing lawyers and legal teams to search across jurisdictions and trace answers back to authoritative legal material. Its platform is currently used by more than 500 organisations, including law firms, companies and public-sector bodies.
Pandektes combines AI search and reasoning with legal methodology developed alongside legal experts. Its system is designed to provide answers grounded in verified sources, while showing the underlying references and how legal positions have evolved over time. The company also offers tools for researching case law, analysing documents and working directly within Microsoft Word.
The company is positioning itself not only as a legal research platform but also as an infrastructure provider for the next generation of legal AI. Through its API, developers and legal technology companies can integrate Pandektes’ structured legal data into their own products and workflows. The strategy could allow AI applications to rely on a consistent legal data layer rather than independently collecting and maintaining legal sources.
Pandektes has reported sixfold revenue growth over the past year, while around two-thirds of organisations that test the platform reportedly become paying customers. The company previously raised €2.9 million in a 2025 seed round led by People Ventures and Interface Capital.
With its latest funding, Pandektes plans to expand into additional European jurisdictions and North America, grow its team and make more of its legal data infrastructure available to external developers. Its broader ambition is to become a foundational data layer for reliable, AI-powered legal research and applications.
