Cologne-based Metycle has secured a €131.7 million ($150 million) credit facility from Rivonia Road Capital to finance larger transactions and expand the global supply of secondary copper, aluminium and other non-ferrous metals. The facility will support transactions across the full trade cycle, from supplier payments through buyer settlement.
Founded in 2022 by Rafael Suchan and Sebastian Brenner, Metycle is building a vertically integrated platform for the secondary metals market. The company combines global metals trading, physical processing and digital verification to make recycled metal supply more predictable, transparent and easier for industrial buyers and smelters to manage.
Its model operates across three main areas. The trading operation manages sourcing, contracts, risk and execution, while SmartSorting Hubs use AI-enabled sorting, mechanical separation and laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy to turn mixed scrap into feedstock matched to customer specifications. The company also operates TrustTrack, a digital layer that connects information about material origin, quality, processing and logistics to individual batches and trades. Its first SmartSorting Hub is located in Maasmechelen, Belgium.
Metycle says it has traded more than €103 million ($120 million) worth of secondary metals over the past 12 months, representing 150% growth compared with the previous year. The company now has a presence across 15 countries. Its technology is designed to address a fragmented recycled-metals market where inconsistent specifications, documentation and material data can make transactions difficult to standardise and finance at scale.
The latest financing follows Metycle’s €14 million Series A announced in February 2025, led by 2150, and a €4.7 million Seed round announced in December 2023. Its investors and financing partners include 2150, Project A, Partech, Market One Capital, Dutch Founders Fund, Crédit Agricole Leasing & Factoring and SCCF.
The new credit facility will allow Metycle to finance larger physical metal transactions, move greater volumes of recycled feedstock and increase supply to industrial customers and smelters worldwide. The company aims to make secondary metals behave more like conventional industrial raw materials, with clearly defined specifications, traceability and reliable delivery.
