Belgian venture capital firm NewSchool VC has closed its debut fund at €10 million, reaching the target it set after an initial €6.1 million first close in September 2025. The fund is backed by around 50 investors, including six family offices and several Belgian entrepreneurs, while founder Christophe Morbee has personally contributed 25% of the fund.
Founded in 2025, NewSchool VC focuses on B2B technology startups at the pre-Seed and Seed stages. The solo-GP fund typically invests between €100,000 and €500,000 in companies working across areas including AI, SaaS, cybersecurity, robotics and compliance technology.
The fund was established by Christophe Morbee, who spent several years investing as an angel before creating NewSchool as a dedicated venture fund. Morbee is also CEO of Belgian payroll and HR provider besox, which has around 110 employees and approximately 4,000 SME customers. NewSchool uses that business network to help its portfolio companies gain introductions to potential early customers.
NewSchool has already made 32 investments, with around 75% of its portfolio based in Belgium. Its remaining investments are spread across Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, France and the United Kingdom. The portfolio includes Warren, Spotable, Ravical, Donna, Dalton, Feedelity, Alice Law, Exhibitly and Cashfeed, alongside more recent investments in Swiss startup Talentir and Paris-based Outline.
Beyond providing capital, NewSchool supports founders with go-to-market strategy, sales, marketing, HR and finance. Its investment approach is particularly focused on B2B companies developing technology that can automate and modernise established industries.
The fund's final close gives NewSchool its full €10 million investment pool to continue backing early-stage companies and supporting its existing portfolio. The firm also has three additional investments in its pipeline.
