Barcelona-Based Health Force Raises €4.2 Million to Streamline Hospital Operations With AI Agents

Health Force has raised €4.2 million in Seed funding to expand its AI-powered hospital operations platform across Europe. The round was led by LUMO Labs, with participation from Step Venture, Next Tier Ventures, Target Global and Calm/Storm.

Founded in Vienna in 2022 by Fadi Haddad and Dr. Juan Sebastián Suárez Valencia, Health Force is building an operations layer for hospitals and clinics. Its AI agents are designed to automate repetitive administrative work while working alongside existing hospital teams and systems.

Rather than requiring hospitals to replace their existing software, Health Force's agents use the systems, computers and logins already available to hospital staff. The company says its platform is built with a deterministic-first approach, making agent actions traceable while allowing the technology to manage workflows under human supervision.

The technology is already being used for hospital-insurance operations, including prior-authorisation checks, claims processing and regulatory reporting. In Italy, the company says its agents currently handle three out of four insurance cases without human involvement. The remaining cases are prepared for staff with specific instructions on what needs to be reviewed.

Health Force currently operates across leading Italian hospital groups including Humanitas and Gruppo San Donato, handling more than 200,000 patient cases annually. Its platform is also used for hospital quality reporting in Portugal. The company is headquartered in Barcelona and maintains an operations hub in Milan.

The new funding will support the expansion of Health Force's catalogue of AI agents into additional hospital workflows, including quality reporting, clinical-trial operations and resource optimisation. The company also plans to grow its engineering and delivery teams while expanding into Germany, France and Spain.

With hospitals across Europe facing growing administrative workloads and capacity pressures, Health Force is positioning AI agents as a way to automate operational tasks without requiring major changes to existing healthcare infrastructure.
