Berlin-based AI-powered services company Integral has raised €18 million in Series A funding to expand its AI-run accounting, taxation and payroll services for small and medium-sized businesses. The round was co-led by Mosaic Ventures and Reid Hoffman, with existing investors Cherry Ventures, General Catalyst and Puzzle Ventures also participating.
Founded in 2024 by Lukas Zörner and Anil Can Baykal, Integral is building an AI-native alternative to traditional accounting software and outsourced financial services. Rather than simply providing another tool for accountants, the company combines AI agents with licensed tax and accounting professionals to deliver the services directly to SMEs.
Integral’s platform automates repetitive financial workflows including reconciling invoices and bank transactions, creating accounting entries, preparing payroll runs and preparing tax filings. Licensed professionals review and sign off on the work, combining automated processing with human oversight for regulated financial activities.
The company says its AI agents now prepare bookkeeping end-to-end for more than half of its clients, reducing average monthly accounting turnaround times from weeks to hours. Integral also reports that professionals working through its affiliated German tax firm, Integral Tax, have doubled the number of clients they can serve since the beginning of 2026.
The latest round brings Integral’s total funding to more than €30 million in less than two years. Its previous major financing included a €6.3 million pre-seed round in February 2025, followed by additional funding connected to its acquisition of German payroll and HR provider cleverlohn in November 2025, which brought total funding to €12 million at the time.
The cleverlohn acquisition strengthened Integral’s payroll capabilities and expanded its ability to serve German SMEs with accounting, tax and payroll services through a single platform.
Integral is targeting a large German and European market where SMEs continue to face significant administrative workloads and shortages of qualified accounting and tax professionals. Its approach is to combine AI automation with regulated professional expertise rather than asking businesses to manage complex financial processes themselves.
With the new capital, Integral plans to further develop its AI agents, deepen workflow automation and expand its team and services across Germany and, eventually, other European markets. The company’s broader ambition is to build an AI-native services platform capable of handling accounting, payroll and taxation from end to end while maintaining the professional oversight required in regulated financial work.
