\London-based venture capital firm Crane Venture Partners has raised €419 million ($484 million) across four investment vehicles, expanding its ability to back early-stage technology companies across Europe, North America, India and Asia-Pacific.
The new capital is divided across Crane III, with €146 million ($169 million); Crane APAC I, with €129 million ($150 million); Crane US I, with €86 million ($100 million); and the Crane Opportunity Fund, with €56 million ($65 million). Together, the vehicles form a connected investment platform designed to support companies from inception through different stages of seed funding.
Founded in 2015 by Krishna Visvanathan and Scott Sage, Crane focuses on foundational technologies across areas including AI infrastructure, enterprise software, cybersecurity, developer tools, semiconductors and other deep-tech categories. The firm invests from inception through seed and maintains an active role with its portfolio companies.
The firm's latest expansion reflects its strategy of building a global platform rather than operating through a single geographic fund. Crane now has a presence across London, San Francisco, New York, Singapore and Bangalore, allowing it to connect founders with capital, customers, talent and industry networks across markets.
A major part of the expansion involves its relationship with MassMutual Ventures (MMV). MMV has been a minority investor in Crane since 2018 and an anchor investor across its funds. In 2025, the two firms also announced an agreement for Crane to administer MMV's European and Asia-Pacific funds, representing approximately €389 million ($450 million) and 40 portfolio companies.
Crane's investment strategy is built around finding technically ambitious founders regardless of where they are based. The firm says the latest vehicles will allow it to identify companies earlier and help them access international opportunities from the beginning, rather than expecting founders to relocate to established venture hubs.
With its expanded capital base and growing geographic footprint, Crane Venture Partners is positioning itself as a globally connected early-stage investor focused on backing foundational technology companies from their earliest stages through international growth.
