Euclyd Raises Over €200M to Challenge the AI Chip Efficiency Gap

Dutch AI semiconductor startup Euclyd has raised more than €200 million in Series A funding to accelerate the development of highly efficient computing infrastructure for next-generation AI applications.
Founded in 2024 and headquartered in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, Euclyd is developing custom AI silicon, memory architecture and data-center systems designed to reduce the energy consumption, cost and physical footprint of AI inference. The company also has an office in San Jose, California.
Founded by Semiconductor Veterans
Euclyd was founded by Bernardo Kastrup, Founder and CEO, and Atul Sinha, Founder and Advisor. The company has brought together an experienced semiconductor team that includes Gerard Egelmeers, Ingolf Held and Harm Peters.
The startup has also attracted major industry expertise. Former ASML CEO Peter Wennink is joining Euclyd as Chairman of the Board, adding decades of experience from one of Europe's most important semiconductor companies.
Rethinking AI Chip Architecture
At the heart of Euclyd's technology roadmap is CRAFTWERK, an AI silicon platform designed specifically for high-efficiency inference workloads.
Rather than relying entirely on conventional GPU architectures, Euclyd combines programmable ASIC computing, processor-memory co-design and advanced system-level optimization. The approach aims to reduce the data movement and energy demands that have become major bottlenecks as AI models continue to grow.
The company's technology is focused on improving token throughput while significantly reducing the power required to run AI workloads, with the broader goal of making large-scale AI inference more efficient and economical.
Major Backing for Global Expansion
The more-than-€200 million Series A was co-led by Samsung, Somerset Capital Partners, Scaleup Europe Fund managed by EQT, and Innovation Industries. EIFO, imec.xpand, Brabant Development Agency (BOM) and Quadri also participated.
Euclyd plans to use the new capital to accelerate its silicon and systems roadmap, expand its engineering capabilities, strengthen strategic partnerships and prepare for commercial deployment across enterprise, sovereign and hyperscale AI markets.
As AI data centers face increasing pressure from rising electricity consumption and infrastructure costs, Euclyd is positioning its European-designed technology as a more efficient path for scaling AI inference.
