Milan-Based Bynario Raises €2.1 Million to Build AI-Powered Cybersecurity Platform

Milan-based cybersecurity startup Bynario has raised €2.1 million in pre-Seed funding after its research team used advanced AI models to uncover serious vulnerabilities in Apple’s operating systems. The company is now looking to turn that research capability into a broader autonomous cybersecurity platform that can help businesses identify, validate, prioritise, and remediate software vulnerabilities at scale.
360 Capital Leads Bynario’s Pre-Seed Round
The €2.1 million funding round was led by 360 Capital Partners, with participation from PranaVentures.
The investment comes as organisations face a growing cybersecurity challenge: modern software environments are becoming increasingly complex, while the number of vulnerabilities security teams need to investigate continues to rise.
According to Bynario, the goal is not simply to identify more potential security problems, but to determine which vulnerabilities are genuinely exploitable in a specific customer environment. This allows security teams to focus their limited resources on the risks that matter most.
360 Capital Partner Cesare Maifredi said Bynario’s approach—combining autonomous vulnerability discovery with validation, prioritisation, and remediation—is well suited to the needs of modern cybersecurity.
AI Research That Exposed Apple Vulnerabilities
Bynario attracted significant attention after its researchers used frontier AI models as part of an offensive security research programme.
In August 2026, the team identified serious vulnerabilities in Apple’s macOS Screen Sharing technology. The vulnerabilities were responsibly disclosed to Apple, which subsequently released fixes addressing the affected security issues.
The research demonstrated how quickly advanced AI tools can accelerate vulnerability discovery. Traditionally, finding complex software flaws has required significant time and highly specialised human expertise. AI-assisted research is beginning to change that equation, potentially making both vulnerability discovery and exploitation faster and more accessible.
For defenders, however, this creates an equally urgent challenge: security teams must be able to detect and address vulnerabilities at the same speed.
Building an Autonomous Security Platform
Founded in 2025, Bynario is developing an autonomous application security platform designed to cover multiple layers of modern technology environments.
Its platform focuses on:
- Vulnerability discovery
- Exploitability validation
- Risk prioritisation
- Remediation
- Software code security
- Cloud infrastructure security
- Software supply-chain security
Rather than overwhelming security teams with a long list of theoretical vulnerabilities, Bynario aims to establish which issues can actually be exploited within a customer's environment.
This approach can help organisations reduce security noise, prioritise remediation efforts, and gain a clearer understanding of their real software exposure. The company says it is already working with customers across software, cloud, and enterprise environments and helping them reduce remediation times.
Why AI-Driven Cybersecurity Is Becoming Critical
The need for this type of technology is becoming increasingly apparent as companies deploy more software and generate larger, more complicated technology stacks.
According to the 2026 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, software vulnerabilities accounted for 31% of incidents, making them the most common route into enterprise systems. At the same time, developers are producing and deploying more code, increasing the volume of potential vulnerabilities that security teams have to investigate.
This creates a difficult balance. Organisations need to identify security problems quickly, but manually reviewing every alert is increasingly unrealistic.
Bynario believes autonomous AI can help close that gap by continuously analysing software environments and determining which vulnerabilities represent genuine, actionable risks.
From Vulnerability Discovery to Continuous Exposure Management
While Bynario's Apple research brought the company into the spotlight, its ambitions extend beyond vulnerability discovery.
The startup wants to develop a continuous exposure management layer that can keep pace with rapidly changing software environments and emerging cyber threats.
The broader vision is to move organisations away from periodic, manual vulnerability assessments toward a more continuous model where AI systems can discover, validate, prioritise, and help remediate security issues as they emerge.
This could become particularly valuable as the global cybersecurity skills shortage leaves many organisations struggling to keep up with the growing number of vulnerabilities across their infrastructure.
Meet the Founders of Bynario
Bynario was founded in 2025 by Alfredo Pesoli, Giancarlo Russo, and Lorenzo Cavallaro, bringing together expertise in cybersecurity, technology, and research.
Alfredo Pesoli — CEO & Co-Founder
Alfredo Pesoli serves as Bynario's CEO and co-founder. He has been a key voice behind the company's vision of using autonomous AI to strengthen cybersecurity.
Commenting on the company's approach, Pesoli highlighted the growing challenge for defenders as AI reduces the cost and time required for vulnerability research and exploitation. His focus is on ensuring that defenders can use similar technological advances to stay ahead of attackers.
Giancarlo Russo — Co-Founder
Giancarlo Russo is one of Bynario's co-founders and forms part of the team building the company's autonomous security technology.
Lorenzo Cavallaro — Co-Founder
Lorenzo Cavallaro is also a co-founder of Bynario, contributing to the company's research and technology efforts as it develops its AI-driven approach to application security.
How Bynario Plans to Use the New Funding
The fresh €2.1 million will be used to accelerate several areas of the business.
The company plans to:
- Further develop its AI-powered cybersecurity platform
- Expand its engineering team
- Strengthen autonomous vulnerability discovery and remediation capabilities
- Scale its platform to meet growing enterprise demand
- Build toward a broader continuous exposure management solution
The funding gives Bynario additional resources to move from breakthrough security research toward a commercially scalable cybersecurity platform.
The Bigger Picture
Bynario's story highlights a broader shift taking place in cybersecurity. AI is no longer being used only to analyse security alerts or assist human researchers—it is increasingly being applied to the discovery and validation of previously unknown software vulnerabilities.
That creates both opportunity and risk. If attackers can use AI to find exploitable weaknesses faster, defenders need equally capable systems that can continuously identify and address those weaknesses.
With its €2.1 million pre-Seed round, experienced founding team, and high-profile Apple vulnerability research already under its belt, Bynario is positioning itself to become part of that next generation of autonomous, AI-driven cybersecurity.
